ABOUT TPF

The Peninsula Foundation (TPF) is an independent, non-partisan public policy institution based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Established as a public charitable trust, TPF is dedicated to advancing research, dialogue, and advocacy on critical issues of governance, national security, technology, and international affairs.
Founded on the belief that governance must serve conscience and that humanity must transcend divisions, TPF works to promote ethical leadership, inclusive development, and a just global order. The Foundation brings a distinctive perspective to India’s policy landscape by emphasising maritime, aerospace, and Indo-Pacific dimensions areas often underrepresented in traditional, continental policy discourse.

Vision

TPF envisions India’s rise as a moral civilisation—one that embodies ethical innovation, democratic values, and universal kinship. It aspires toward a world where no nation dominates another, where technology serves humanity, and where justice and cooperation define international relations.

Guided by the timeless principle

“Yaadhum Oorey, Yavarum Kelir” (Every place is home, everyone is my kin)

the Foundation promotes a vision of governance and global engagement rooted in equality, empathy, and a rational, multipolar order.

Mission

The mission of TPF is to originate, disseminate, and expand the understanding of robust, evidence-based public policies grounded in liberty, equality, democratic values, economic freedom, peace, and security.

Through engagement with policymakers, industry leaders, academia, and civil society, TPF aims to shape informed narratives and practical solutions that strengthen India’s sovereignty while contributing to a more inclusive and balanced global system.

Who We Are

TPF is a collective of scholars, practitioners, and civic-minded leaders committed to addressing the complex governance, security, and ethical challenges of the 21st century. Anchored in India’s civilisational wisdom and informed by global realities, the Foundation operates at the intersection of geopolitics, governance reform, science and technology, and social justice. More than a think tank, TPF is a values-driven institution that seeks not only to analyse the world but to shape it through ideas grounded in ethics, evidence, and empathy.
