About
PDAS 2026

Tamil Nadu and the Indian Peninsula — where military operational need, industrial innovation, and governmental commitment converge to build India's sovereign, self-reliant, and globally competitive defence ecosystem.

01 // Context & Vision

Energising India's
Defence Industry

In the evolving geopolitical landscape of the twenty-first century, technological capability and industrial strength have become central pillars of national power. Nations that control advanced technologies, manufacturing ecosystems, and secure supply chains possess a decisive strategic advantage.

For India, strengthening indigenous defence capabilities has therefore become a national priority. Under the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, the Government of India has embarked on an ambitious transformation of the defence sector — aimed at reducing import dependence and building a globally competitive defence manufacturing ecosystem.

This transformation is not merely about producing defence equipment domestically. It requires the creation of a complex and integrated ecosystem involving research institutions, manufacturing industries, supply chains, innovators, investors, and skilled human capital.

Strategic Assessment

Within this emerging national framework, Tamil Nadu and the broader Indian Peninsula region possess unique advantages that position them to play a pivotal role in India's defence industrial future.
